I am first and foremost a flutist. I am principal flute with Tilikum Chamber Orchestra and Oregon Symphonic Band, an active chamber musician, and Music Director of Rose City Flute Choir.

Phyllis Avidan Louke, an Altus Artist, serves as principal flute with Oregon Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra and has freelanced in the Portland area since 1991. She has performed as soloist with Oregon Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, Oregon Arts Orchestra, Oregon Symphonic Band, and Rose City Flute Choir. She has performed at National Flute Association Conventions and internationally with the Oregon Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, Oregon Arts Orchestra, International Flute Choir, Florida Flute Orchestra, and Metropolitan Flute Orchestra. Ms. Louke is an experienced church/synagogue musician, having performed extensively at Sunset Presbyterian Church in Beaverton (both as a soloist and orchestra member), Beaverton Christian Church, Holy Cross Church in North Portland, The Grotto in NE Portland, St. John Fisher Church in SW Portland, and Congregation Neveh Shalom in SW Portland.
Although frequently seen playing the larger members of the flute family (bass, contrabass, and occasionally double contrabass flutes), one of her first loves is the piccolo.
